An electric thermal storage heater is a stand-alone, off-peak heating system that eliminates the need for a backup fossil-fuel heating system when sized properly. The system contains electric heating elements that lie within specially-designed, high-density ceramic bricks. These bricks are capable of storing vast amounts of heat for extended periods of time. The stored heat is automatically regulated in relation to outdoor temperature and the heating requirements of the user. When the room thermostat calls for heat, heat is extracted from the unit’s storage core and is distributed evenly in the home.
Electric thermal storage heaters draw electricity during off-peak hours when it is cheaper. Heat is stored in specially-designed bricks to provide comfort 24 hours a day.
